November 13-30, 2001 -- SOSDD
Not to sound cynical, or bored, I really am not. However, we have fallen into a routine. We work on the boat for several days, then we take a day or two off, then we do something off the boat, then we go shopping. Rather than bore you with an 'official recounting' blow by blow I will do some highlights. November 15, of course is my birthday. We took the day off today. We spent the day over at Gordon's with Ken and Vesta from Great White Wonder, Randy and Patty from Passagio, Steve, Connie and Michael from Krystalie and Eileen and Dave from Little Gidding. That evening, Jak threw me a 'suprise' party. Yesterday, Jak told me that she was going to give me a surprise party. She just needed one thing from me. Who did I want to be there. I gave her a list of boats to call, and she said she would take care of everything else. I dutifully acted surprised when everyone showed up and it was a fun evening. November 16, Eileen from Little Gidding performed up at Jaks. We attended the concert. She is rather a good performer. On November 18, we went to Jake's house for a BBQ. It was another fun time. Though the cab ride home was the trip from hell! On November 22, was the Thanksgiving potluck at Jak's. She fixed 3 turkeys done 3 different ways. The rest of us supplied the other dishes. There were a wide variety of traditions and dishes, and almost 50 people attended. It was a most enjoyable afternoon. On November 24, we went to Gordon's for dinner. He was having a special good bye dinner for Mary and Betty Lou. We had a wonderful evening with them. On November 26, we went out to dinner with Gordon, Great White Wonder, Little Gidding, and Mary and Betty Lou. Great White Wonder and Mary and Betty Lou are leaving on Wednesday, so we thought one last evening would be a nice touch for their Caribbean vacation. On November 27, we had Miss P and Stargazer over for cocktails. The party lasted until around 2:30 AM! It was a great evening with very fun people. After that, it was time to recover. We spent the rest of the month vegging out
