The first thing on the agenda was to get Lisa and Brian sandals, swimsuits, and purchase food. I should explain that one of the reasons that Lisa was here was because she had broken her jaw and needed some recuperation time. Because we weren't sure what her diet would require, we waited to purchase food until after they arrived. So, on our first day together, we headed out to see the town and go shopping. It was a fun day, though Mike was done shopping after the second store we went to! However, he persevered and we had an enjoyable day of looking in shoe stores, clothes stores and the grocery store.

Jak called to see if Lisa and I wanted to go to the casino with her. Mike agreed to watch after Brian for the evening, so Lisa and I headed to the casino around 8:30 in the evening. We had a great evening at the casino and returned to the boat around midnight.

On August 10, in the morning, we went ashore to the flea market at Marina Juan. We had a few fleas to sell, and it is always fun to see what kind of fleas other people have. Lisa opted to stay on the boat and enjoy a quiet morning. Brian met several other children and had fun playing at the edge of the water. He found a bucket and shovel for the beach, so we bought them for him. Around noon, we returned to the boat for lunch. Then, Brian showed us everything he had brought with him, and we showed him some of the toys and coloring books that we "had" on board. We had a fun afternoon aboard the boat with Brian and Lisa.

On August 11, Mike and I received an unexpected break. Lisa and Brian went on a tour of the Mangrove swamps and spent the day at the Boca Del Rio beach. We dropped them off at 8:30 in the morning, and they were returned/dropped off at 6:30 in the evening.

On August 12, in the morning, Lisa and Brian headed off to the Sigo mall with the same group of people on the free bus. They were looking for a few blow up water toys, and wanted to see the mall. So, we fed them breakfast, dropped them off and headed to breakfast ourselves at Jak's restaurant. Lisa had a successful shopping trip. After getting back, Lisa decided to go swimming. Brian decided that he wanted to go swimming as well, but only if I would join them. Mike opted to watch. So, the rest of us changed into our bathing suits. Lisa jumped in the water. Brian, on the other hand, refused to get in, even with a life jacket for him that Texas Reb loaded us and an inflatable ring on! Finally, with Mike helping him down, and Lisa and I helping him into the water, Brian went swimming, sort of. It was a fun afternoon.

On August 13, Lisa wasn't feeling well, so Mike and I took Brian and headed into town to look around some more and pick up some things we needed. By the time we returned in the afternoon, Lisa was feeling better and we spent the afternoon goofing around before going to dinner at Bambu restaurant and returning to Jak's for drinks.

Mike and I spent August 14 and 15 getting the boat ready to move. We had decided to take them to Coche for the weekend. As always, when a boat sits for a while, it tends to spread out a little bit. We even made a game of getting the boat ready and Brian joined in until he realized he was doing work, and returned to playing his gameboy. Lisa still wasn't feeling great so she spent a quiet two days on the boat.
