January 1-3, 2003 -- Margarita Bliss We spent a quiet day. We went for breakfast around 2:00 in the afternoon! Then we came back to the hotel and spent some time around the pool with Precocious Gale and Ray's parents. We went to dinner at the Medeteranneo Cafe at the recommendation of a friend. As soon as we got there, the hostess came out and asked if we were the two guys that he sent! We had a good meal and enjoyed talking with the hostess. On January 2, after breakfast at Jak's Restaurant, we went downtown to wander around for a bit and then returned to the room to spend a quiet day. That evening, we went to dinner with Gary and Josefina. We returned to Jak's Restaurant to spend the evening with our friends there. We returned to the hotel around 10:30 pm or so when a friend called to see if we were doing anything, so we headed back out with him. Venezuelans are amazing that way! They start making their plans for the night sometime around 7:00 pm, and then if they go out before 11:00 pm, either they are meeting gringos or something is wrong! On January 3, after breakfast at Jak's, we headed back to Peurto La Cruz. We had a great time in Margarita celebrating New Years with our friends.
